Adaptations- Hebrew Literature in Israeli Cinema

The course will take place in the central library’s media department on Sundays between 14:30 to 18:00, Mount Scopus Campus

The course will examine Israeli literature and film and the ties between the two arts, focusing on cinematic adaptations of Israeli novels. Discussion of the artistic techniques, in both media, will be central to the course. No less important shall be the reference to themes of time and place.
Students of the course will be required to read the literary works, view the films and follow the course according to a bibliography.
The first half of each lesson will be a film-screening. The second half of the lesson will be a discussion with a director or writer, or a lectures by experts in the field.
The course is intended for literature students, film students and all lovers of these arts, it is open to the public and free of charge.
